What I personally used for Babesia

This is a record of my experience—not a protocol for someone else. My history included conventional prescription treatment and later approaches that I personally felt helped me, especially ozone, Cryptolepis and artemisinin.

Prescription treatment

My treatment history included atovaquone and azithromycin, drugs that are part of the preferred standard regimen for symptomatic babesiosis in current CDC/IDSA guidance. I also used other antimalarial treatment, including tafenoquine. Tafenoquine is not routine first-line babesiosis therapy; human evidence is emerging mainly from difficult relapsing cases in highly immunocompromised patients.

I had meaningful periods of improvement, but symptoms did not always stay away. That experience is why I kept looking beyond a single treatment episode.

Personal experience

Ozone

Ozone was one of the strongest standouts for me. I do not describe it as proven Babesia therapy because there is no controlled human babesiosis trial demonstrating that. The supporting research is mechanistic: redox signaling, endothelial effects, experimental protozoal oxidative susceptibility and Babesia antioxidant biology.

Cryptolepis

Cryptolepis became one of the herbal approaches I most associated with progress. Peer-reviewed studies have tested the plant extract or cryptolepine directly against B. duncani, multiple other Babesia species and a B. microti mouse model.

Artemisinin

Artemisinin was another major standout for me. Experimental results are mixed: B. duncani in-vitro activity and some positive animal results coexist with negative B. microti experiments.

My personal schedule — not medical advice

The Cryptolepis + artemisinin schedule I used

What I personally did was take one full dropper of Cryptolepis and two artemisinin capsules each day for three days, followed by four days off. In other words, my schedule was three days on and four days off.

This is simply a record of what I did, not a recommended dose or treatment protocol. A “full dropper” can represent different amounts depending on the tincture concentration and dropper size, and artemisinin products can vary in strength.

Why I do not present my experience as a dosing recommendation

I am sharing the schedule I personally used because it is part of my story. That does not make the same dose or schedule safe, effective or appropriate for someone else. Product concentrations vary, prescription drugs have contraindications and interactions, and herbal constituents can have real pharmacology. The evidence pages separately address what has actually been studied.
